Possible Causes and Solutions

WiFi Network or Range Issues

If you’re unable to find Circle View in the Home application or you’re struggling with frequent disconnections, there may be connectivity issues between the doorbell and your Apple device due to a poor network. This happens when the network is unstable, or the doorbell is on the edge of your Wi-Fi range.

What to Do

  • Check if you have a stable network connection when setting up the doorbell with HomeKit.
  • Make sure the doorbell is within the range of the Wi-Fi signals. Consider using a WiFi extender to improve signal strength if moving the router closer to the doorbell is not an option.

Configuration Doesn’t Work

If the doorbell remains unresponsive after the initial setup, there may be an issue with the configuration. In this case, we recommend you reset the doorbell to its factory settings and reset the HomeKit configuration too.

What to Do

  • Remove the Logitech Circle View from HomeKit

To do this, open the Home app, tap on the doorbell, and select “Remove Accessory”.

  • Proceed with Factory Reset

Plug the camera into a USB port and press and hold down the reset button for 6 to 9 seconds. You’ll know the reset is successful once you see the LED lights blinking in magenta and yellow.

  • Re-add the Logitech Doorbell to HomeKit

To do this, open up the Home app, tap on “Add Accessory”, and select “HomeKit Secure Video” from the list of available accessories. When prompted, enter your Apple ID password.

  • Final Setup

Finally, once the doorbell is re-added to HomeKit, you’ll need to go through the setup process again. This includes connecting it with Wi-Fi, if necessary.

Outdated Software

Before adding the Logitech doorbell to Home, it is important to update the software on your iOS device. An outdated software can result in failure to connect the two devices or an inconsistent performance if connected at all.

What to Do

  • Update your iPhone or iPad to the latest OS version.
  • Check for firmware updates for the Logitech doorbell via the manufacturer’s website or mobile application.

Wrong Initial Set-Up

Forming a connection between Logitech doorbell and HomeKit can be slightly complicated. If you initiated the installation without taking care of a few technical requirements first, you set yourself up for trouble.

What to Do

Before adding the doorbell to Home:

  • Ensure that both your Logitech Circle View Doorbell and HomeKit hub (Apple TV, HomePod, or iPad) have the latest firmware and software updates.
  • Then, follow the steps mentioned in the earlier section to connect Logitech Circle View to HomeKit.

Incompatible Device

Another reason your Logitech doorbell is not connecting to HomeKit can be the lack of compatibility between the doorbell and your iOS device.

What to Do

  • Make sure you’re using an iPhone or iPad because you cannot add accessories to the Home app on Mac.
  • Try using a different iOS device to determine if the problem lies with the original device or the doorbell itself.

Temporary Glitch

Sometimes the issue can be as simple as a temporary glitch creating trouble in connecting the doorbell to the Home app.

What to Do

  • Restart the Logitech Circle View and your HomeKit hub to resolve any temporary glitch causing connectivity issues.

Technical Issue

If none of the solutions work for your Logitech doorbell and HomeKit setup, there may be a technical issue that requires the attention of a professional.

What to Do

  • Get in touch with Logitech’s customer support for assistance in connectivity problems.
  • If the issue remains, it is time to contact Apple support for further assistance.

Conclusion

All in all, several factors can contribute to the Logitech Circle View Doorbell not connecting to HomeKit as expected. Ranging from issues as simple as a temporary glitch to as frustrating as a technical fault, the connectivity process can sometimes be pretty complicated.
